The Wall, part 1

I'm starting a new project in the living room. To give the room some life and to move some of my framed photography from the closet, I have decided to hang them in a design that some have called "a gallery" or "salon style." It seems that Parisians used to hang portraits in their salons and when new paintings were completed instead of moving and rearranging the old ones to make room for the new ones, they just hung them in random order. I'm not that brave. I have printed a grid and am working to arrange the framed photographs in some kind of pattern.

Pictured below is the wall. It currently has three framed botanical prints that would appear to be the same. Most people don't notice, but they are the same. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up! I bought them at Restoration Hardware years ago. It's time for them to go.

Stay with me. This is going to take weeks.
